A yielded heart – our hearts to the Spirit of the living God is essential for establishing a meaningful relationship with the Holy Spirit. God cannot communicate with someone whose heart is not turned towards Him. Therefore, our hearts must be open to God, and our minds must also be receptive to Him. Essentially, we need to recognize that our entire being should be devoted to the Lord.
A hearing ear – To truly hear what is in the heart and mind of God, we must first be fully yielded to Him. When we surrender ourselves, the Holy Spirit can convey the thoughts and intentions of the Father to us. He can share profound secrets about this generation, our families, and the solutions needed to deliver people from darkness. Once we are yielded and our ears are open to Him, He can trust us with the depths of His heart and the plans He has for us.
The willingness to do – After achieving a yielded heart and a hearing ear, it is crucial to take action. The Bible tells us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). This principle reflects how God operates— God is not passive, He is active and alive, sharper than any sword, and He moves and works through us. We need to seek guidance from God on how to act according to His instructions. As vessels of God in this time and season, we must act on His behalf because God, being spirit, requires our physical bodies to manifest His will on earth.
It is important to understand that hearing from God may not always bring immediate happiness. When God entrusts us with His heart, He may reveal His burdens for humanity and provide solutions that require us to pray and act on His behalf. An obedient person recognizes that life is greater than their own desires and adopts a kingdom mindset—the very mind of God. A spirit-led individual understands that each action prompted by the Holy Spirit has a broader impact, touching multiple lives. These principles are straightforward but require disciplined execution.
The walk of faith comes with its own set of challenges and obstacles. We must walk with the awareness that we are insufficient on our own (2 Corinthians 3:5) and rely on the Holy Spirit to succeed. Therefore, let us cast aside any self-dependency and approach God as His children. As stated in Hebrews 4:16 (NIV), “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
